I am trained as an Analytic Counsellor. I can work with current problems (eg: relationship counselling) or immediate crisis (eg: grief or trauma) or long term difficulities (eg: addictions counselling).
I obtained my Diploma in Analytic Counselling, after 3 years of study, from the Churchill Clinic in Claremont. I also hold a Certificate IV in Analytic Psychotherapy. I am committed to ongoing training and professional development and am currently enrolled at the Perth School of Psychotherapy and Counselling. I also regularly attend weekend workshops in related fields.
I am a Counsellor Intern member of the Psychotherapists and Counsellors Association of WA (PACAWA) so, not only am I bound by my own code of ethics, I am also bound by a code of professional ethics currently administered through the ethics commitee of that organisation.
I approach counselling with a warm, respectful, down to earth manner working both analytically and existentially.
I understand that coming to counselling for the first time may feel daunting. Your initial 30 minute consultation is free. During this time we will get to know each other a little. For me it will be an opportunity to discover what your area of specific concern is, and for you to decide if you want to work with me or not. I will endeavour to make your visit a warm and accepting experience.
To make your initial contact with me you can reach me via telephone or by forwarding an email.
